‘ Guild Members join the Ombudsman for Estate Agents ’
“THE Guild of Professional Estate Agents, with more than 700 members, has made membership of the Ombudsman for Estate Agents compulsory.
‘“This decision sends the clearest possible signal to the agency community and the general public – not to mention the Government - about the Guild’s determination to set new standards within the profession,” said managing director Malcolm Lindley.’
‘”By insisting that all members belong either to the Ombudsman Scheme or the Royal Institute of Surveyors, it places the Guild squarely in the forefront of the drive for real professional excellence.”’
Almost 100 per cent of members have accepted the plan including Andrew Purnell & Co. ‘“I have always been proud of the Guild, and the quality and professionalism of its members, but this response really says it all!” added Mr Lindley.’
The Guild has taken this step to – ‘“clearly label the Guild agents as being members of a network the public can trust, on that is genuinely in tune with the public mood, and takes its professional responsibilities seriously.”’
